Are You Emotionally Intelligent?- 10 am Class
With so much emphasis placed on coursework, grades and accolades for accomplishments, interpersonal communication and relationships take second billing. In the business world, however, it is not just about what you know but how you sell it. Can you play nice with others and develop rewarding relationships that will lead you down the path to success? Let's find out. Please take this link to an EQ test on the Discovery Health Website and see how you score when it comes to managing your empathy, communication, nonverbal and criticism skills. Please respond to this post no later than before our next class period on Wednesday, July 9 and tell us how emotionally intelligent you are (you don't have to give your score unless you want to, but you do need to go into detail about where your emotional weaknesses are and the skills you need to further develop to be a more effective communicator). FYI. Professor's score was 122 in case you are interested.

I scored a 105 which is average and i can understand that because I do have emotional struggles. Even though, I'm friendly and try to get along with everyone I do have trouble showing affection. I have a somewhat cynical perspective of people and often mistrust them. On occasion I have a hard time telling people how I really feel about certain situations and ideas.
Although i may lack confidence in my relationships with certain people, I do not let it effect my work ethic. I try to always prepare myself for complications that can occur during assignments. My optimism and confidence usually help me overcome certain fears. I always keep my eye on the prize and strive to better myself.
I scored a 119 which is very high on the Emotional IQ test. I agree mostly with what it means about me. I am very optemistic and i can express my feelings. The test also stated that i interact with others well and that i bounce back from drawbacks. I do believe that i am over confident at times about certain things and that can hurt me in the long run,but i hope to over come that and be a better person.
My score was 104 which is also average. I agree with the strengths that are listed. Because I like to keep to myself and deal with my own emotions, also I like to relate to others.
I also agree with the weaknesses. I do not deal with people very well and I should find more effective ways of communicating. Although I do like hearing about what people think and feel, I still have trouble communicating and letting others know how I feel.
I think the reason for my weakness in communication is that I always feel that if someone wants to talk to me, they will talk to me first.
Overall this test is very accurate and it also gave me advice on how to fix my weaknesses.
I received a score of 119 which is above average. I think it reflects my emotions very well. I am very self motivated and do not need to be pushed into doing something. I can care less if someone gives me useless criticism to try to bring me down. I am confident in my abilities and work ethic.
My relationships with people do tend to suffer because I have trouble showing emotions when expected. I definately have trouble saying "I love you" because I feel like it doesn't mean anything if true feelings are not behind those words.
In general I am a strong minded person who does not let emotions get in the way of performance.
I received 109
This means that I have an average E IQ. I am able to deal with problems that occur in a reasonable manner. Which is completely true.I never get in to any confrontations or hit bumps with solving problems. It also states that i relate to others well and I maintain a satisfactory mental health. I also agree with this because I never really had any issues in making friends or trouble greeting new people.
The results also stated that I need to practice some new skills because I am not using all of my potential.I believe that you always can better yourself, therefore I'm ready to start working on a better me
My Emotional IQ is in the average range. Essentially, I'm able to recognize and deal with my own emotions and those of others in a reasonably effective manner. This is likely evident in my ability to relate to others, express my needs, and maintain a satisfactory level of emotional health. Since my score is in the mid-range, however, I am not taking full advantage of my potential. By learning and practicing new skills and more effective ways of dealing with people, I could increase my EIQ. After all, we can always improve our communication, ways of relating to others and resilience. The benefits will be numerous, including stronger relationships, a more successful career and better emotional health. Most of all, my will be an all-around happier person.

My score was 121 which would be considered as high. I would describe myself as a jolly and energetic person. I live life to the fullest. I do not regret anything or look back on my mistake, nevertheless I see it as a challenge to do better.
My score was 112. They said my score is average. If have any problems or feel some type of way about something, I'm able to identify and solve it. When I make contact with most people its forms a healthy relationship.
The test also stated that I could still work on myself a little more by taking advantage of my potential more. It said my relationships with people would be even stronger and more successful in careers and emotional health.
I received a 110 on my EIQ test which puts me in the average range. I need to express my full potential rather than keeping my feelings bottled up. I can also learn to stop thinking negatively about situations i know nothing about.
I scored a 134 which is excellent. I really dont have problems with the whole emotional aspect of my life. Im a very open person, and showing my emotions is very easy for me i could say. I could say that i "never" let things get to me or if they do i really dont show it because its for me to get over it and not let everyone know im having problems. As far as self motivation, i believe im good at that. If i do fail at something or don't get it right the first time all i could do is try again, and keep trying until i get it right.
I received a 135 as my score. I agree with the results that were given to me. One of the comments included that I was a resilient individual. This let me know that I have the capability of maintaining emotional stability, despite different circumstances.
I plan to continue staying positive throughout situations. I also plan to remain honest about what and how I'm feeling.
I got a 126, im a very laid back person and im easy to get along with. I dont have a problem with showing affection even though I do get nervious some times. I like to do my work early so I can have the rest of the day to my self and also so i dont have to worry about it later. i think im a very likeable person. I like to meet new people and make friends. I dont like to be the center on attention.
I recieved a score of 127 on the quiz which is above average. The feedback given at the end of the quiz was very accurate when it stated that I knew myself well and am confortable with who I am. What it stated is definitely the person I am and how I handle certain situations that come across my path. All in all, the quiz was quick, easy and reminded me of how strong of an individual I am.
My score was 117 which according to the test was high. I actually was surprised by my results.
Although sometimes I try to keep a postive and opstimitic outlook on life, I sometimes feel so overwhelmed and defeated. Sometimes I can not deal with stressful situations and I find myself holding in feelings of resentment and bitterness.
